Cyprus was our Olympic cultural flavor adventure for today. We had Melomakaronas.

This recipe made A LOT of cookies and therefore took up a lot of counter and table space as the various batches cooled, glazed, and set. I had to alter the recipe slightly as we don't have cognac and I couldn't bring myself to buy a bottle since it's rather expensive. So I subbed orange juice as the recipe suggested. I thought these are really tasty. The cookie is not too sweet, but it’s dipped in a honey glaze and sprinkled with toasted ground walnuts, so it’s got a rich favor without being overly sweet. E didn’t care for these and K said they tasted similar to the biscotti from a few days ago. Recipe here->
